Balou (Javier Miquel) is a DJ, music curator, and writer with appearances across Europe, Africa, and Asia, including festivals such as Horst in Belgium and Kunda Valley in South Africa. He is also part of echo-echo, a multidisciplinary collective exploring music and sound for introspective and therapeutic purposes.
Unconstrained by genre or era, Balou approaches music through atmosphere, feeling, and an insatiable curiosity for the strange. At River Sound, he will dig into downtempo, IDM, and fourth-world-inspired psychedelia, piecing together slow rhythms, intricate percussion, and otherworldly textures. Edgy, trippy, and weird, the session leaves room to lie down and drift or find your way into a slow, peculiar dance.
