Shjva has a rare ability to bend time, weaving immersive dub techno, low-slung Goa rhythms, and melancholic after-hours jazz into sonic narratives that transform spaces and make them her own. Hailing from Lutsk, Ukraine, Shjva has lived as a migrant in Warsaw for the past eight years, where she runs the Penumbrum label and party series and holds a residency at Jasna Club. Her journey bridges post-industrial beginnings, Warsaw’s underground, and the transient unease of displacement – a theme resonating in her Brutaż EP and releases for Warning, People & Places, and Common Ancestors.
Through intricate shifts in groove and progression, she subverts familiar motifs to create moments of sonic discovery. This transformative approach shines in her live sets and collaborations with Volodymyr Gnatenko (Turbinaria) and Stereometrix (PLAN), where she navigates a dynamic spectrum of textures and moods.
Blurring the line between documenting fleeting moments and disrupting time itself, Shjva creates a soundscape that is introspective yet transcendent, turning each performance into a timeless experience.
