JON, aka Jonas Raudonius, is a pivotal figure in Lithuania’s hypnotic techno scene. Hailing from the coastal city of Klaipėda, he is one of the driving forces behind Black Wave – an event and podcast series devoted to the immersive edges of deep, uncompromising sound.
As a DJ and producer, JON has released music on labels such as Marseille’s Solid Shape and Lithuania’s Static Motion. Beyond the dancefloor, his creative work extends into contemporary theatre and film, where he crafts evocative electronic scores that intertwine narrative and atmosphere.
His 2024 album Imaginary Freedom, released on the Amulet of Tears label, marks a defining evolution in his sound. Developed through his experience in scoring, the record is a cinematic ambient journey that fuses modular synthesis, live instrumentation, and field recordings – seamlessly blending organic and electronic textures into a singular, emotionally resonant whole.
